"I love studio work, painting, drawing, sculpture, fabric work…making art, no matter the vehicle; it's an obsession and a delight. My ability to teach and effectively communicate ideas is a gift. I am so fortunate in my life to be able to combine these two riches. My paintings, be they landscape, still life, or portraiture, are highly personal. I am always speaking metaphorically to "what's going on" with me: current state of mind, relationship to the world, emotional well being. What I find most intriguing is the dialogue between myself, the materials, the canvas or paper…when the communication is flowing, it's the simultaneous sensation of electric energy and serene. It's like falling in love, again and again."
